ok, so I grew up in Northern California in a town called Nevada City. Nevada City is in a county called Nevada County, which happens to be shaped like a gun pointed at Nevada. While in my childhood I attended a Waldorf school from 4th grade through 8th grade. After middle school I attended Nevada Union High School, which was a definite culture shock, going from 100 kids k though 8 to 3500 students. In middle school I found my love for computers, finding warz, credit card generators, win nuke, and other things middle schoolers should not be playing with. In high school I was a big time stoner, but never loss sight of my love for computers, although I was defiantly a closet geek. during this time I took a year of pascal, two years of the CCNA program, and a year of photography/photoshop. Towards the end of high school was when I learned of my love for hip hop. Through out the years I had been reading and writing poetry, and had some what of an exposure to gangsta rap. At some point I started downloading music with audio glaxay, which happened to have music reviews. Thinking there was more to hip hop then what I was currnetly being served I started obsessively reading reviews of hip hop albums and groups. it wasn't long before I discovered anticon, and a myriad of groups. The coolist part about the whole thing was that as my senior project I was able to write a paper about hip hop, and produce a book of poetry that I had written.
so with the formative years somewhat described, I will attempt to speak on what has brought me to this point in my life. after the disaster that was my high school years, I moved to Eureka California to live in the dorms at College of the Redwoods. At this point I had abandoned my dreams of being a computer programmer and was playing with the idea of being an artist. I took math, art, and general ed classes for the first year, then after seeing one of my friends working on a C++ program, I realized that I need to take some programming classes. also during this time in eureka I met my now ex-wife. My time in Humboldt county was fun but when I left about 2 and a half years later, I was ready to go. So I was ready to transfer to a university and the university in the town I was living in didn't have squat for a computer science degree. I started looking around, knowing that I couldn't afford to live in the bay area, and anywhere south of the bay was out of the question, I looked north. It wasn't long before I discovered Portland State, and its great computer science program. I decided to make the move.
I've been here for two years, and I will probably finish this story at some point but my dog is whining for me to take him out so until then.
